As a Licensed Couples & Family Therapist, I bring my clients a broad range of experience. I've been described as an interactive, strength-based and compassionate therapist. My approach is to provide support, challenge and practical feedback. Simply put, you will find I do a lot more than sit back and nod. While I work with clients experiencing diverse challenges, my focus areas are in couples therapy, reproductive loss and family medical therapy. I work with individuals and couples.
Education & Training
I completed my Doctorate in Psychology with an emphasis in couples and family therapy from the only COAMFTE accredited program in Northern California: The California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University. My doctoral research focused on the needs of individuals and couples experiencing medical treatment for infertility. My doctoral studies required me to stay on the cutting edge of research and clinical practice.
Before becoming a therapist, I had a 15-year career in business working in the area of conflict management and group dynamics. The nature of my work brought me into contact with diverse people and workplaces. This experience rekindled my curiosity for psychology and gave me a deep interest in and an understanding of the issues people face when they must balance life and work demands. As a therapist, I have provided consulting services to help manage stressors including work force reduction, job loss, position reassignment and workplace conflict.
Finally, it is important to note that I have in-depth, advanced training in couples therapy, disordered eating behaviors, health psychology, as well as infertility and reproductive loss.
